Job Summary:

As a School Counselor, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to students, teachers, and parents within the educational institution. Your primary responsibility is to promote the academic, social, emotional, and personal development of students. You will work collaboratively with the school staff and families to create a positive and conducive learning environment for all students.

1.Student Counseling:

· Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students to address their academic, emotional, and behavioral concerns.

· Help students explore their strengths, interests, and goals to make informed academic and career decisions.

· Offer guidance and support to students dealing with personal challenges, such as stress, anxiety, peer pressure, and family issues.

· Facilitate conflict resolution and peer mediation to promote healthy relationships among students.

2. Academic Support:

· Assist students in developing effective study habits, time management skills, and organizational strategies to improve their academic performance.

· Identify learning difficulties or special educational needs and collaborate with teachers and parents to develop appropriate intervention plans.

· Conduct academic assessments and use the data to guide students in setting academic goals.

3. Career Counseling:

. Administer career assessments and work with students to explore various career options based on their interests and aptitudes.

· Provide information about different career paths, college admissions, and vocational training opportunities.

· Support students in creating academic plans that align with their career aspirations.

4. Parent and Teacher Collaboration:

· Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to identify students who may benefit from counseling support or intervention.

· Conduct parent-teacher conferences to discuss students' academic and behavioral progress, offering strategies for improvement.

· Provide parents with resources and guidance to support their children's emotional and educational development.

5. Crisis Intervention:

· Be prepared to respond to crisis situations involving students, such as emotional distress, bullying, or other emergencies.

· Offer immediate support and counseling to students in crisis and involve appropriate authorities or agencies when necessary.

6. School Programs and Workshops:

· Develop and conduct workshops and presentations on topics such as study skills, social skills, anti-bullying, and mental health awareness.

· Participate in school-wide programs that promote a positive school culture and emotional well-being.

7. Confidentiality and Ethical Practices:

· Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all counseling interactions and student information.

· Adhere to professional and ethical standards in counseling practices.

Qualifications and Skills:

· Master's degree in Counseling, School Psychology, or a related field.

· State licensure or certification as a school counselor, if required in the specific region.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and school staff.

· Empathy, patience, and the ability to establish rapport with students of diverse backgrounds.

· Knowledge of counseling theories, techniques, and best practices for various age groups.

· Familiarity with educational and career resources for students.

· Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: ₹40,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month

  • Gurgaon, Haryana: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
